David Beckham launched his new H&M collection in Madrid
The footballing legend showed off his style credentials in a tailored blue suit from the high street giant's Modern Essentials menswear range, which he teamed with a t-shirt and white trainers for a laidback yet put-together look. David, who played for Spanish team Real Madrid for a few years in his successful career, took time to greet fans and pose for photographs as he arrived in the Spanish capital. The sporting icon has enjoyed a long relationship with H&M, collaborating with the brand on a hugely successful bodywear range, but his latest project has seen him create an edit of his favourite menswear pieces from the Modern Essentials collection, which he wore for the trip.

"I am thrilled to continue and extend my collaboration with H&M by selecting my favourite pieces from this spring's Modern Essentials collection," he said in a statement. "Each piece is a new wardrobe classic that will update every man's spring wardrobe with great style. Marc Foster is one of my favourite directors – I can't wait to reveal the new campaign with H&M." The campaign, released a few weeks later, sparked a worldwide frenzy as David smouldered in the images posing in everything from t-shirts to sweaters. The accompanying video, also directed by Marc who has been behind films including Quantum of Solace, had David make quite the entrance looking handsome in a black jacket and trousers, later revealing a grey jumper underneath.
