Dolce & Gabbana do ultimate millennial takeover with influencer-only show

Known for keeping their finger on the pulse when it comes to fashion and its ever-evolving nature, Dolce & Gabbana well and truly embraced the social media matrix with their pre-fall 2017 show in Milan.

In an unprecedented move, the Italian fashion house invited 49 influencers to storm its catwalk and show off the new collection.

The group – a mix of blogger, vloggers, actors and Instagrammers – included British blogging star Jim Chapman, Cindy Crawford's son Presley Gerber and Jude Law's son Rafferty Law.

Sofia Richie, Justin Bieber's rumoured ex-girlfriend also walked in the show, alongside Instagram model Lucky Blue Smith and Taylor Hill's brother Chase.

Sister duo Sophie and Sistine Stallone, daughters of Sylvester, made their debut on the catwalk. Sistine, who worked the catwalk in an oversized black vest, later shared a snap on her Instagram account.

"Thank you so much @stefanogabbana @dolcegabbana for always being so kind and generous," she captioned the photo.

"I am unbelievably grateful for this opportunity. I <3 my DG family."

"These are the new generation, we liked the idea of adding ordinary people who have become famous thanks to the web," said Stefano Gabbana.

The theme of the show was royalty, which saw family crests, crown emblems and insignia emblazoned on military coats and velvet blazers.
