When Chanel showcased its Autumn/Winter 2014 colelction at Paris Fashion Week in March, Karl Lagerfeld immediately had the fashion pack coveting his quirky supermarket-themed accessories. The fashion maestro, whose previous show backdrops including an iceberg and an underwater kingdom, transformed the French capital's Grand Palais into the world's chicest grocery store.
Models walked the runway for
the ultimate stylish supermarket sweepcarrying milk carton-shaped bags, but it was the shopping basket bag which caught the fashion pack's attention. Made of metal with calfskin detail to create the iconic French house's signature chain detailing,
the shopping basket has already been spotted on the arms of fashion's elite including Anna Dello Russo. Now the bag is available to the wider public, but still comes with a hefty price of £7,190, while the smaller milk bottle comes at £4,245. When the Chanel show ended, frenzied fashionistas rushed to get their hands on the set's quirky decorations including
Chanel-branded food such as Haute Ketchup, eau de Chanel and Jambon Cambon, named after the location of Chanel's original store. Since then, the quirky accessories have been a firm favourite amongst the A-list, with
Alexa Chung opting for a milk carton-shaped bag as she sat on the front row at the Topshop Spring 2015 showat London Fashion Week.
