Anne, 34, was making a rare high-profile outing with her husband Adam Schulman, with whom she shares a one-year-old son Jonathan. The couple mingled with the likes of actress Busy Phillips and author Kelly Oxford, host of the event, who was promoting her second book, When You Find Out the World is Against You: And Other Funny Memories About Awful Moments.

Anne has been on the promo trail for her new film Colossal, in which she stars opposite Jason Sudeikis and Dan Stevens. During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Anne and her co-star Jason spoke about the sci-fi comedy. She revealed that she was pregnant at the time of filming, but luckily didn't suffer from baby brain… too much. "I'm really lucky, I said yes to the movie before I was pregnant and I memorised my lines early," she said. "But no, there were some days it was hard, it was."

"We tried to keep it pretty low key, and we kept the theme just rainbows, which is a fun theme because it's hard to go wrong with it," she said. "But I made the mistake, I went on Pinterest and looked at other people's one-year-old parties. It's not fair what some people do, you know children have party planners, which is definitely not fair. Think about it. They blow it out."
