There is nothing we love more than fashion through the ages, and the V&A have just announced their next majorly big fashion exhibition, which is titled Fashioned from Nature. It will document the relationship between fashion, and the natural world since 1600. Christian Dior, Dries van Noten and Philip Treacy will feature in the exhibit, with exquisite garments and accessories, which we are very excited about! The exhibit will focus on how fashion’s progress and constant demand for raw materials effectively, and worryingly, damages the environment. We also are looking forward to seeing the appearance of campaign posters and protest group memorabilia that have put this issue on the map- hello Vivienne Westwood and Fashion Revolution, who popularised the movement of sustainability.

Designer pieces, including women and menswear by Stella McCartney will be displayed, alongside an upcycled dress by Christopher Raeburn.

Emma Watson's dress she wore at the 2016 MET Gala will feature at the exhibition

The highlights that we are itching to see in the flesh are a pineapple fibre clutch bag, and the jaw-dropping Calvin Klein dress that Emma Watson wore to the 2016 MET Gala! We are also brimming with excitement over the cape of Cockerel feathers, which will take their place amongst the huge 300 intriguing objects that will feature in the exciting new offering.

If history is your passion, this exhibit is the perfect place for a fashionista with a desire to explore. There will be objects dating back to the early 1600’s, and the past 400 years of fashion’s must-sees; a pair of earrings from 1875, that were formed from the heads of two real Honeycreeper birds (a hugely popular item at the time) and a muslin dress decorated with wings of jewel beetles, from the 1860’s!

Vintage pieces will of course be mixed in with modern designs- there will be a Giles Deacon haute-couture dress from last year, and a 1997 leopard creation from Jean Paul Gaultier.

We love these unique earrings

Fashioned from Nature runs from 21 April 2018 until 27 Jan 2019, and admission is £12, but V&A Members go free.
