Burberry has just announced that Christopher Bailey's final collection will be a celebration of LGBTQ+ communities. His very last collection will be presented on 17 February at London Fashion Week and the autumn/winter collection will use a plethora of rainbow colours – the shades of the LGBTQ+ emblem in a dazzling new rainbow check. The show will run as it did in 2016 – on a see-now, buy-now basis, which means that it will be available to purchase as soon as the show is over. The show will also be streamed live on Burberry's official website. The chief executive announced he was departing the brand in July and has always been credited for helping Burberry transform from a smaller British company to an international global brand. Burberry's digital presence is seen as revolutionary due to its live streaming, and even it’s flagship stores have been given an updated design.

It's not just fashion – the brand’s support to LGBTQ+ communities goes beyond clothing. Burberry will make donations to the Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project and ILGA. All these organisations aim to raise the voices and awareness. Christopher Bailey, 46, revealed the details about his new collection:

"My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to - and in support of - some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity"

The rainbow check is in celebration of LGBTQ+ communities

Burberry has long been a brand that has been committed to supporting and championing young people. The brand encourages the youth of today to fulfil their potential through the companies' incredible apprentices and work experience programmes. The brand also heavily donates to creative outlets, including scholarships at the Royal College of Art and the British Fashion council.
