The Duchess of Edinburgh was pictured at Christiansborg Palace during her visit to Copenhagen on Tuesday, where the wife of Prince Edward was taking part in the "Copenhagen Summit – Keeping our Children and Families Safe in the AI Era." Identified by royal style blogger @royalbritishfashion on Instagram, the mother-of-two wore a two-piece forest green suit from Victoria Beckham, including a fitted single-breasted jacket and a pair of high-waisted flared suit trousers that gave the style a sartorial finish.
She layered the suit over a white shirt that came complete with a chic, embroidered collar, and she added terracotta-toned block pumps by Penelope Chilvers.
Sophie loves to wear items from Victoria's label, as does the Princess of Wales. The brand appears to have become a firm royal favourite, with the Duchess of Sussex famously stepping out decked in the former Spice Girl's ensembles over the years, too.
Clare Pennington, HELLO! Fashion's Editor explained to us why the label has earned such popularity among the royals. She told us: "It's become shorthand for minimal elegance that's fashion-crowd approved thanks to smart details and final touches that you might not spot on first glance."
Sophie's suits
It appears that when Sophie has an event and wants to look tailored, Victoria Beckham's eponymous brand is her first port of call. In March, the blonde duchess dressed to impress at the DEBRA Global EB Task Force Event at Hever Castle in Kent.
The 61-year-old donned a powder blue set by the high-end brand. She opted for a wide-leg pair of trousers once again, with a high waistline to create a leg-lengthening effect, and the style also featured patch pockets on the front for extra decoration. She also donned the matching 'Alina' blazer in the shade 'Bluebell', which was single-breasted.
Sophie's style ethos
At a fashion event in 2021, the mother of Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, made some rare comments about fashion and her own sense of style. "Britain is an island – albeit a big island – and if you look at what royal women have worn over generations, they have made huge fashion statements reflected from foreign shores, and that's what helps make our style," she quipped.
When asked whose style she most admires, she said: "Angelina Jolie -I always think she looks amazing - and also Queen Rania of Jordan always looks stunning."
We have to agree…
