While Sarah Ferguson's eldest daughter Princess Beatrice has inherited her same fiery red hair, the two looked even more like twins during an outing 15 years ago.
The mother and daughter have both embraced bold colours and accessories in their wardrobe, but enjoy different senses of style. Where Sarah has maintained her love of tailored dressing with structured silhouettes since the 80s, her daughter leans towards a sleek, contemporary style, often wearing modern British designers.
When the mother-daughter duo attended a wedding together on 27 August, 2011, they stepped out in matching looks that perfectly showcased their personal, but complementary, styles. The royals were pictured leaving their hotel in Rome as they made their way to Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt's lavish star-studded wedding in striking pink gowns.
Beatrice stunned in a strapless magenta dress with a softly structured bodice and floaty skirt which draped behind her as she walked. The Princess, who was 23 at the time, styled her hair down in voluminous waves and carried a silver clutch for a touch of sparkle at the black-tie event. She accessorised with bold jewellery and embellished platform heels that perfectly encapsulated the bold style of the 2010s.
Steps ahead of her daughter, Sarah opted for a modest pink dress that was just as bright as Beatrice's. The former Duchess of York's sleeveless gown crossed over on the torso for a twisted effect and draped to just below her ankles in a figure-hugging silhouette. Like Beatrice, Sarah wore her vibrant red hair down for the formal occasion.
Sarah and Beatrice's last public outing
While the mother and daughter duo would often attend royal family gatherings and society events together, their last joint public appearance was over a year ago.
Sarah and Beatrice spent the day in the royal box at the 2025 Wimbledon Tennis Championships on 30 June. The pair were seen chatting and wearing matching hats.
Sarah has since retreated from public life amid renewed scrutiny over her long-standing association and financial ties with convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
After being evicted from Royal Lodge, the residence she shared with her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor for two decades, the Duchess has been lying low. Sarah and Andrew's daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, have also largely stepped back from the limelight following the controversy surrounding their parents, but have made the occasional public appearance, including at their cousin Peter Phillips' wedding in June.
