Duchess Sophie is currently in Zambia on a five-day visit, and we've loved seeing everything the mother of Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, has been up to.

Her wardrobe has been as stylish and elegant as ever, and on Monday, she donned a faithful dress she's been seen in many times.

The royal attended the Orbis Eye Health reception at the Latitude 15 Degrees Hotel in Lusaka and wore a lime green silk number by Amanda Ross x Soler London. Known as the 'Brooke' dress, it was a midi style, designed in sumptuous satin, and featured a flattering V-shaped neckline. For a colour-block kick, she added a deep purple sash belt for a vivid, statement finish.

Sophie's dress had a colour-block edge

As always, Sophie's accessory game was strong. She layered dainty gold jewellery, including necklaces, a cuff and earrings, and boosted her height with her heels, opting for the 'Dali' Mary Jane espadrilles by Penelope Chilvers.

This somewhat zesty tone isn't often embraced by the royal ladies, who are known to prefer a slightly more neutral palette. Bright colours do feature in their wardrobes, but bold citrus shades like Sophie's are a rarity.

Colourblocking makes a bold style statement

Colour-blocking has many benefits; it's a true graphic, standout-from-the-crowd look. Contrasting colours elevate any ensemble and, provided they mesh well together, the effect is always high-impact.

Royal ladies often wear neutral colours

Sophie last wore this eye-catching look back in 2024. The blonde royal wore the style when she met with Amina Priscille Longoh, the Minister of State for Women and Child Protection of Chad, during a solo visit. Instead of the colour-block sash, she swapped it out for a metallic belt with a chunky reflective buckle.

HELLO! is the only publication accompanying Sophie on the visit. Our reporter on the ground, Jack Malvern, revealed there had been a luggage mishap!

Sophie had to carry out her first engagement in her travelling clothes

Due to her baggage being delayed, the royal carried out her first engagement in what she called her "aeroplane clothes". It did nothing to dampen her spirits, though, and she carried out the engagement brimming with enthusiasm.
