Duchess Sophie was every inch the proud mother on Sunday, as she supported her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, as she took part in the final carriage driving meet at Windsor Great Park.
Prince Edward's wife wore a low-key yet chic look, nailing respectful spectator style. Identified by the Instagram account @royalfashionpolice, the 61-year-old donned a fabulous patchwork jacket by La Gazelle and a wonderful pair of white jeans as she was pictured walking alongside her 22-year-old daughter.
White jeans - are they just for summer?
White jeans are often associated with warmer months due to an outdated sartorial rule that started in the USA. The 'no white after Labor Day' fashion guideline dictates that white clothing should only be worn during the summer months and put away in early September.
Style your white jeans like Sophie
This somewhat dated rule is no longer prevalent, as white jeans have fast become a classic capsule wardrobe item that can be worn all year round. They look incredible in cooler months, particularly if you pair them with autumnal colours, such as brown, olive, tan and burgundy.
Sophie expertly proves this ethos with her olive and grey-toned jacket. The brand of jeans Sophie is wearing is unknown, but we can see they are slightly skinny in cut and fall under the cigarette pant category.
FatFace has a great alternative that features the same close-to-the-body shape and slightly tailored finish. The 'Marlow White Taper Leg Jeans' would look particularly resplendent with a chunky cream jumper and nude-toned ballet pumps.
Lady Louise and Duchess Sophie's wardrobe pact
Duchess Sophie is also a worldwide style muse in the royal family, consistently showing off her elegant wardrobe during royal engagements. So, it comes as no surprise that Lady Louise takes style tips from her mother.
As a fashion editor who specialises in royal style, one of my favourite mirroring fashion moments between the two royals was this stunning Alaïa dress. Lady Louise chose the luxury designer number from her mother's wardrobe when she attended the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal wedding in 2018.
The young royal looked sophisticated in the classic monochrome ensemble, wearing the designer's 'Parfum Gray' dress, which featured a fitted bodice and puff skirt. Sophie is a huge fan of the late Tunisian couturier and first wore the dress to watch the carnival parade at The Patron's Lunch celebrations to mark the Queen's 90th birthday in 2016.
