The children of legendary funnyman Peter Sellers have decided to put the record straight about their late father. Michael, Sarah and Victoria Sellers are to appear in a documentary about the Pink Panther star, just as Hollywood prepares for a new film about his life.

Michael is an outspoken critic of the new movie, The Life And Death Of Peter Sellers which stars Geoffrey Rush in the title role and Charlize Theron as Britt Ekland. He and his siblings say the flick portrays their father in a negative light and they're eager to present another side to the former Goon.

"The film is going to be full of inaccuracies, so hopefully this programme will add some balance to what's being said," explained the 50-year-old. "The programme is based around our recollections of being his children. It's nice to do something positive." Britt Ekland, who was married to the comedian, has meanwhile threatened to take legal action against the film's producers.

Somebody's Daughter, Somebody's Son will be broadcast next Monday at 10.30pm on BBC One.
