The first Yellowstone spin-off, Dutton Ranch, hit TV screens in May to huge success, with the first two episodes revealing Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) had been forced to move to Rio Paloma, Texas, after a wildfire destroyed their Montana ranch.
Now in Texas, with their son Carter, the family is forced to build a whole new community, while Beth fights to secure their business -- and Rip finds himself in the middle of a murder cover-up after discovering a rival ranch hand's body on their land.
Viewers were also introduced to a fascinating cast of new characters, including Annette Bening's scheming Beulah Jackson, the affluent owner of 10 Petal Ranch and the matriarch of the Jackson Family, her sons Joaquin and Will-Rob, and her granddaughter, Oreana, the presumed inheritor of 10 Petal Ranch, run by the Jackson Family since the days before the Battle at the Alamo.
Natalie Alyn Lind stars as Oreana, who it has already been revealed will be Carter's love interest, bringing these two families closer together for better or worse, and she tells HELLO! that things are only going to get more chaotic as the rest of season one plays out.
"My character causes havoc!' laughs Natalie. "My character comes in and really messes some stuff up – but that's all I'm going to say. She is somebody that should not be taken lightly."
"Annette is my favorite person ever. She's incredible," Natalie continues, confirming we'll get "a lot more" of Oreana and her grandmother, Beulah, on screen.
Love interest
In episode two, viewers saw Oreana reconnect with Carter after helping to get him released from jail, and the two spend time together drinking beer in a field and shooting empty bottles.
Oreana, a straight-shooter, tells Carter he needs to stop caring what other people think about him, before she reveals she has a boyfriend.
Natalie and Finn have been good friends since they first met, and the 25-year-old calls him "amazing," praising his work in the Taylor Sheridan franchise, which he has been a part of since the age of 15
"He's been on the show for so long that it's so interesting to go back and see him when he's so little, and he has grown into such a handsome and respectful and very talented young man," says Natalie, speaking at the 2026 Gracie Awards. "I feel like I'm talking about him like he's my son or I'm a grandma right now. He's a young man and he's killing it!"
Acting dynasty
Natalie comes from an acting dynasty; her mom is One Tree Hill's Barbara Alyn Lind and Natalie is the eldest of three sisters who are also actresses. Emily, 24, stars in We Were Liars, and 18-year-old Alyvia appears in Wayward.
Natalie also appeared in Gotham, Fox's The Gifted, as well as the first season of the ABC series Big Sky.
Dutton Ranch, however, is the first experience with a franchise role, and so "stepping into this world was a pinch-me moment".
"It's very rare that you're able to be a part of something so massive, and the new story that we're telling…. it's an anxiety-filled feeling, wanting to live up to an expectation of the first one. But with this new chapter, it does feel so separate from the original," she says.
"And the reviews have been so positive. It's blown my mind how much people love it, and I just feel so grateful for everybody."
