Hulu has been producing original content for 15 years and has become a steady presence in the TV conversation, largely thanks to its 2017 breakthrough, The Handmaid's Tale, which became an Awards juggernaut and ran for eight years.
In recent years, hit shows have included Only Murders In The Building and Paradise, although not every show has had the longevity of The Handmaid's Tale.
Here are the shows canceled by Hulu in 2026 – and those it has renewed.

The hit teen drama concluded earlier in 2026 after showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer announced on February 16, 2026, that the season three finale would serve as the series finale.
A day later, the episode aired.
"After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it. Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion. My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you," Meaghan shared with fans.
The show, based on Carola Lovering's novel, chronicled the toxic relationship between college freshman Lucy Albright and upperclassman Stephen DeMarco over an eight-year period as they became embroiled in a web of betrayal, secrecy, and addiction.

In what was perhaps the biggest cancellation shock this year, the Buffy reboot was over before it even began. Hulu officially decided not to move forward with the sequel series, which was slated to star Sarah Michelle Gellar and be directed by Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, in March 2026.
The news came after a years-long debate over whether the show should, or could, return; the original iteration ran for seven seasons between 1997 and 2004 and became a series that changed the TV landscape.
It starred Sarah Michelle as teenager Buffy Anne Summers, who is – unwillingly – bestowed the title of the Chosen One, the one who battles vampires, demons, and other evil forces for humanity.
Ryan Kiera Armstrong joined the reboot in August 2025 as Nova, a new vampire slayer who would have been trained by Buffy, with Sarah Michelle reprising the role in a recurring capacity.

Viewers will be able to return to the world of rural hockey in Canada as Jared Keeso's comedy series Shoresy, from Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney, will return in 2027 after being renewed for another season.
Jared, the creator of Letterkenny and the spin-off Shoresy, will return as the titular player; season one followed Shoresy as he moved to Sudbury to take a job with a struggling Senior AAA-level ice hockey team.

The Handmaid's Tale sequel, The Testaments will return for a second season at Hulu.
Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, awards darling Chase Infiniti stars as Agnes, a dutiful and pious young teen who lives in Aunt Lydia’s elite preparatory school for future wives.
It's return is no surprise – it received mostly favorable reviews, and viewers spent over 45 million hours streaming season one before the finale on May 27, 2026.

Sterling K. Brown will return to Paradise for a third – and probably final – season of the twisty-turny thriller.
Dan Fogelman's drama was always planned as three seasons, and season two ended on a huge cliffhanger so it's return was never really a surprise.
"We know what the end is, and it’s an end that would make it very difficult to make a season four come afterward,” executive producer John Hoberg said earlier in 2026.
Season two retained high ratings with a solid 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
