Jennifer Aniston has revealed that damage from a Brazilian blowdry is the reason she had to cut around six inches off her hair. "I actually just cut all my hair off two days ago," she said during an interview with Elle. "My hair did not react really well to it," she added, referring to the Brazilian blowdry. "The minute I cut my hair I want it back. Always. It’s a guarantee. I'm trying really hard to love this one." She also revealed to Vogue that she had chopped her trademark locks. "It was kind of spur-of-the-moment," she said. "I was flipping through the television channels and I paused it to take a picture and I sent it to Chris [McMillan, her hair stylist], and he said, 'That's Lawren Howell from Vogue!' And then he said, 'I just cut that!' So that's it." Brazilian blowdries have been widely praised for banishing frizz and leaving locks silky smooth, but many contain chemicals which can damage the hair. Back in September, Jennifer revealed that her hair is low maintenance and requires no heat styling at all "I usually shape the hair around my face with my fingers — just twist it and then refine it with a brush and let it air-dry," the Friends star said. The 44-year-old also said there's one beauty look she won't be trying any time soon – red lipstick. "Super bleached blondes — like Gwen Stefani — can get away with it, but it's tough to pull off with my colour," she explained. Earlier this year, Jennifer admitted that she had "hair envy" over Kate Middleton's trademark brunette locks. "Does she do her hair herself?" Jennifer joked during an interview with Marie Claire. "She's got a hard job being scrutinized like that," she said. "When I have a bad hair day, my hair just goes in a clip." During the interview, Jennifer added that 'The Rachel', the layered bob made famous in the mid-nineties when she played Rachel Green in the hit sitcom Friends, happened by accident. When the show started, Jennifer was asked to change her long hair and did so by just asking a stylist to cut it shorter. "My manager at the time said, 'You have to do something with your hair—it's horrible!'" said Jennifer. "I walked into the salon and Chris [McMillan, her stylist] just lopped it off. I mean, at that point it was pretty much The Rachel."
