The TV star shocked and upset fans when she revealed last week that she had caught a breakthrough case of the virus despite having been fully vaccinated.

"How do you feel," Jenna asked, to which Hoda responded: "It's so weird, I know a lot of people have been getting these breakthrough COVID cases, and they're happening right and left.

"But you know how you're like 'I'm good, I'm good, I have a tickle in my throat, it's probably nothing'," she continued.

She then revealed that after taking a rapid test before coming into work, she tested positive and decided to isolate for 5-6 days.

When talking about her two daughters, she revealed that since they'd already had and recovered from the virus, a doctor advised that they'd be okay.

"So we had some real family bonding time," Hoda cheerfully added, then mentioning that she'd tested negative for three consecutive days before returning to work.

Jenna asked her co-host how she'd been feeling, and she responded that she was feeling fine and had felt the same way throughout the isolation period. "It's just about getting through it," she added.
