Hoda's refreshing attitude to health and wellness

Hoda launched her wellbeing app, Joy 101, in May 2025, which focuses on lessons in happiness. She advocates for positivity which also extends to her lifestyle habits.

She said: "I've always done [indoor cycling], but now I've added weight training and I feel like my body's changing. I joined a gym that's the kind where you see beefcakes: lots of weights, and sled pushing.… I have more energy than ever before."

She also opened up to Today.com about her motivation to improve her health and fitness, revealing that a major factor was her desire to be able to lift up her young daughters for as long as possible. "I was like, 'I want to be able to lift 41 pounds, you know, for Hope and… 50 pounds for Haley, whatever it is," she said. "And that's what I keep trying to do. I've been upping it as they're growing. I'm like, 'Stop growing! That's about as much as Mom can do.' But literally, it's lifting."

She added that her workout routine has changed in recent years. "I used to only like cardio because it made me feel good. It was like a rush. I'm sweating," Hoda said.

She explained that when she started "getting more into weights, it made me feel a lot better."

Hoda is loving life since leaving Today

Opening up about her decision to leave, Hoda spoke at USA Today's Women of the Year awards in March 2025. She explained: "Like anybody who’s done anything for a long time, you feel safe and know what tomorrow is going to bring. I decided my kids needed more of my time pie and I wondered what else I could do. I changed my life 8 million times in my 50s.

"Then I started thinking about my 60s, like, 'Well, what’s that decade going to be about?' Let's make it something different; let's be brave."
