We're usually used to seeing a Duchess wearing a neutral makeup palette; think taupe eyeshadow, minimal lashes and a super polished hairstyle. So it's no wonder that we're obsessing over Duchess Meghan's amazing smokey eye makeup and messy bun combo at a charity performance of Hamilton last night with husband Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle looked sensational in a black tuxedo mini dress by Canadian designer Judith & Charles, accessorised with a pair of Stuart Weitzman black suede shoes and a black Jimmy Choo clutch. But it was her return to her signature beauty look that we were fawning over. Since the royal wedding in May, Meghan's makeup has been significantly more natural than we were used to so we were pleased to see her vamp it up with a heavier eye makeup. Since Meghan knows her makeup, she kept her lips neutral – possibly in her go-to shade Charlotte Tilbury's Matte Revolution in very Victoria -and her skin fresh to let her eyes pop. Buster Knight, W7 Cosmetics Makeup Artist, commented: "Meghan never ceases to be effortlessly chic with this smokey eye. She's kept it paired back, effortless and chic - no over-use of false lashes or solid black hues. Meghan brings a touch of glitz to the royal family, but does so with poise and simplicity."

And it's not just her makeup that we loved, but her hairstyle too. Giving us all the royal wedding vibes, Meghan's messy bun was the perfect style to frame her on-trend earrings, a pair of 'talon hoops' from Shaun Leane, priced at £225. This is the first official event for the newlyweds since enjoying a break over the summer holidays. The event was held to raise funds for the HIV charity Sentebale, co-founded by Prince Harry, and he showed his playful side by joining the cast on-stage and breaking into song – delighting the cast who whooped and cheered behind him.
