Cycling's golden couple Laura Trott and her husband Jason Kenny are expecting their first baby together, their agent has confirmed. Laura, 24, first announced the happy news on Instagram, sharing a photo of two adult bikes alongside a child's bike, which she simply captioned with a heart. The post was quickly met with messages of congratulations for the pair, who tied the knot in September following their record-breaking appearance at the 2016 Games in Rio. A short while later, Laura - Britain's most successful female cyclist – shared another image showing the couple's pet dogs, with speech bubbles suggesting their reaction to the pregnancy.
Laura Trott and Jason Kenny announced their baby news with a sweet Instagram post
In a statement to HELLO! Online, the couple's agent Luke Lloyd-Davies said: "I can confirm that Laura Kenny is indeed pregnant and that she, Jason and their respective families are absolutely thrilled and delighted with the news. They very much appreciate all the kind wises and messages of support that they have already received." Jason, 28, meanwhile, made a light-hearted reference to his wife’s pregnancy on Twitter. Alongside a cartoon picture of a flyer about pregnancy titled 'So You've Ruined Your Life', he wrote: "I wondered why this leaflet came through the post."
Mum-to-be Laura also shared a photo imagining their dogs' reactions to the pregnancy news
Laura and Jason's romance became public knowledge at London 2012 - where they each won two gold medals - when they were pictured kissing at the beach volleyball. They tied the knot in a private ceremony on 24 September 2016, and Laura later shared a wedding day photo with fans on Instagram, describing it was "the happiest day of my life". The mum-to-be has previously joked that she hoped the couple's children would inherit their sporting genes. After an incredible week at the Rio Olympic Veldrome, the couple celebrated with a kiss in front of the cheering crowd before Laura tweeted: "I love him to bits. Our kids have to get some of these genes, right?!"
