The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's eldest child, Prince Archie, will turn four on 6 May, the exact same day of his grandfather, King Charles's Coronation.

Buckingham Palace recently confirmed that Archie's father, Prince Harry, will be attending the Coronation Service at London's Westminster Abbey, however, his wife Meghan will remain at their California home with their two children.

This means that Archie will be spending his birthday at home with his mother and sister, Princess Lilibet, age one, while his father attends the important royal event in England. So how will little Archie celebrate his special day?

Well first up, we imagine dad Harry will be straight on a video call to his son to wish him a happy birthday. It's thought that Harry will stay at his and Meghan's Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage, while in the UK, which the couple are expected to vacate this summer.

Presents are bound to be on the cards with Meghan, Lilibet and possibly Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, joining in the fun at the family's sprawling Montecito mansion.

If Archie is having a party with friends - presumably from his California pre-school - there is plenty of space for them to run around in the garden. The Sussex's grounds extend to a whopping seven acres and include a playground complete with two slides, climbing frame, tightrope, helter skelter, and two types of climbing wall.

The family also have their own chickens, which we know Archie loves to feed, as well as three pet dogs to play with, and the royal child also enjoys visiting their neighbour, who owns some mini-pigs!

Harry and Meghan previously revealed to Oprah Winfrey that they have formed a very close bond with their neighbour Victoria Jackson, who owns a vast ranch populated by farm animals. The former makeup artist and entrepreneur often invites the Sussex children to her Santa Barbara farm.

Meghan revealed that Archie and Lilibet have enjoyed spending time there, telling The Cut that "the kids have been over to pet Jackson’s mini-pigs."

There's plenty of fun to be had at home for Archie on his birthday. He could even have his own supervised pool party in the family's stunning swimming pool! The beautiful beaches of Santa Monica are also nearby should he fancy a birthday beach day.

We know that Harry and Meghan often invite their friends around to celebrate special events with them, so perhaps some of their famous pals such as Ellen DeGeneres might drop by with a gift, or James Cordon or Orlando Bloom with their children.

As for Archie's birthday cake, Meghan is a fan of British baker Claire Ptak, having commissioned stunning cakes by her for her wedding to Harry and for Lilibet's first birthday in England. However, given the distance, it's doubtful Claire could cater for a birthday in California.

Perhaps Meghan will bake Archie her famous lemon olive oil cake. The mother-of-two's sweet treat is one she has been known to bake with lemons plucked from citrus trees in her home garden.

After all that excitement, the big question is, will Archie watch the Coronation with his family on his birthday? We can just imagine his and Lilibet's faces light up when they see their father Harry on the TV.
