"If you rest, you rust," Arnold Schwarzenegger famously once said. "If you stop movement, then this is the first step to death," he believes, and so keeping active even at 77 is really important to the star.
Luckily, the actor has two incredible homes where fitness is a focus, allowing him to get his fix of movement. Firstly, he has his main LA mansion acquired for $11.9 million, where he has his own home gym, then his Idaho holiday hideaway, which is perfect for hitting the ski slopes nearby.
Los Angeles mansion
In 2002, the FUBAR star forked out a dazzling $11.9 million for a sprawling mansion in the very sought-after Brentwood area of Los Angeles. He acquired it alongside his then-wife, Maria Shriver, in 2002. Maria has since moved out, following their split in 2011.
The epic property has been showcased a number of times through Arnold's Instagram feed, including a look into his private home office space and a glimpse at his gorgeous, oh-so-stylish kitchen.
Of course, there's a home gym on site so the star can keep up his workout routines, even well into his eighth decade.
Idaho holiday home
Although Arnold likes to keep his second property a little more off-grid, we do know he owns an idyllic hideaway in Ketchum, Idaho.
Arnold actually built the mammoth estate himself, so it's been designed to his exact needs.
The star is a big skiing fan, and he often frequents the Sun Valley Resort nearby.
Arnold's childhood home
The Austrian residence where the actor grew up did not have running water until he was age 15. The humble home has now been converted into a museum where you can even admire Arnie's childhood bedroom in person.
Arnold's health issues
Despite Arnold being a fitness icon, he has lived with a heart condition all his life. He was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, a condition that tragically claimed the lives of his mother and grandmother.
Arnold's history with heart surgeries dates back to 1997, when he first underwent an open-heart operation to replace a defective aortic valve, and he's had many more since. Then in 2024, he had his most recent surgery to have his pacemaker fitted.
In a candid revelation on his Arnold's Pump Club podcast, Arnold shared, "I had surgery to become a little bit more of a machine: I got a pacemaker."
