Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are the ultimate NYC dwellers, with their chat show broadcasting from Walt Disney Company's headquarters in the Hudson Square neighbourhood of lower Manhattan. The pair, who tied the knot in 1996, live on the Upper East Side in a glorious five-storey townhouse featuring a gorgeous white kitchen.
The space, which was photographed for Architectural Digest in 2024, features white cabinetry with silver hardware and a large range oven. It also comes with an enormous island with an in-built sink adorned with a floral arrangement for extra decoration.
Kelly's 'timeless' kitchen
"The kitchen has a timeless feel with the shaker units in an off-white shade paired with marble worktops, it's definitely a look you wouldn’t tire of and one that will last for years to come," interior designer of The Living House, Sophie Clemson, tells us, heaping praise on Kelly's design.
"The wall units extending to the ceiling draw the eye upward, adding height to the room while also providing more practical storage space. The dark flooring contrasts with the off-white units.
Sophie has one tip for those looking to deck out their kitchen like Kelly's: "One thing to consider when choosing dark flooring is the maintenance, as it tends to show every little crumb!
"[That said], I would say the kitchen is already modern in a timeless way, as the shaker-style kitchen is both popular right now and a classic design. A great way to personalise the space is with artwork, plants, and accessories such as a large vase or fruit bowl on the kitchen island."
Inside Kelly and Mark's pad
The interiors of the couple's home were designed by Studio Sofield. The property, which was purchased by the chat show hosts in April 2013, features five bedrooms and six bathrooms, as well as a rooftop terrace with a garden and city views and a bespoke cigar lounge.
Initially, the home, which Mark and Kelly share with their children Michael, 28, Lola, 24, and Joaquin, 23, was a source of regret for the homeowners.
"I remember when we bought our first home, and we immediately regretted it," Kelly admitted on a May 2024 episode of LIVE with Kelly and Mark. "I remember when we went in to sign all of the deeds, and whatever we were signing at the closing, the real estate broker said, 'I can tell you're new homeowners.' "
Since then, they have made their own, with Kelly telling AD that it is their "favourite place on Earth." The inspiration behind the interiors was 1970s New York meets 1920s Paris. Designing their home with Bill Sofield even involved going to flea markets in Paris to source original pieces.
"Something more interesting than just us happened to all of these beautiful pieces," Kelly told the magazine of the unique light fittings in her bedroom.
