It was a big day for Danish royals Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine on Saturday, as the 15-year-old twins celebrated their confirmation at Fredensborg Palace in Denmark.
The youngest children of King Frederik and Queen Mary were joined by their parents, their siblings Princess Isabella and Crown Prince Christian, and their grandmother Queen Margrethe for the service, which was conducted by the Royal Confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen, at Fredensborg Palace Church.
The ceremony marked the young royals' formal commitment to the Christian faith, into which they were baptised as babies.
The teenagers followed in the footsteps of many family members, including their grandmother, father and siblings, who were also confirmed in the same church.
Blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment
In a post shared on the Danish royal family's official Instagram account, the royals offered fans a glimpse into the special day – including a sweet blink-and-you'll-miss-it sibling moment from Vincent and Josephine that many brothers and sisters will find relatable.
The clip opened with slow-motion footage of the family arriving at the church, with Frederik and Mary holding hands as they walked alongside their children.
Inside, the twins were seated at the front on two throne-style chairs opposite the Royal Confessor, with Josephine holding a monogrammed order-of-service leaflet.
With King Frederik, Queen Mary and Queen Margrethe smiling as they watched on, the ceremony ended with a classic sibling moment: a quick, blink-and-you'll-miss-it fist bump to seal the deal.
Vincent and Josephine had been preparing for the milestone for weeks, attending services and meeting with the Royal Confessor alongside their grandmother.
The family were also photographed at the Chancellery ahead of the service, gathered around Queen Margrethe as she sat in a chair.
What did the young royals say?
Speaking at their first joint press conference, Vincent and Josephine shared their reactions to the day and spoke about their future plans.
Reflecting on the joint confirmation, Josephine said: "I feel like I couldn't imagine celebrating it without him… It's always so nice to have support by your side and a friend you know you can trust."
The milestone comes just a week after the death of their maternal grandfather, Queen Mary's father, John Donaldson, who passed away at the age of 84 in Tasmania.
Speaking about the loss, Vincent said: "It's been incredibly difficult for me and the entire family, and we miss him so much. But he will always be in our hearts. We're so saddened by what happened, especially since it was right before our confirmation. But we know he's with us. We miss him dearly, and it brings us peace to know he's in a better place now."
