King Charles and Queen Camilla are among the expected guests at Peter Phillips' royal wedding to Harriet Sperling on 6 June.
But if their Majesties do attend, they will have a very busy day in store – and may need to leave the nuptials early.
The King and Queen will also attend the Derby Day at Epsom Downs racecourse that day for the first time as monarchs, it was announced on Friday.
The royal couple is joint patrons of The Jockey Club, which owns and runs the Surrey-based racecourse, succeeding the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was patron for 68 years.
The late Queen only missed the historic race twice between the start of her reign in 1952 and the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Jim Allen, General Manager of Epsom Downs Racecourse, said: "We are honoured and thrilled that The King and Queen will be joining us at Epsom Downs on Derby Day.
"Their Majesties show great enthusiasm, interest and support for horseracing in the UK and their attendance next week will be a proud moment for all of the team here and everyone connected with the racecourse."
Who will be attending Peter Phillips' royal wedding?
Peter Phillips is Princess Anne's son, so the King and Queen will likely be present for his big day, though this is yet to be officially confirmed. However, their appearance at Epsom Downs will mean they'll sadly miss the after-party or reception.
Peter is also close to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the Edinburgh family, who are expected to attend.
Other royals likely to be seen at the ceremony at All Saints Church in Cirencester include Peter's divorced parents, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips; his stepfather, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence; his sister, Zara Tindall; and her husband, Mike Tindall.
However, as HELLO! revealed exclusively earlier this month, Prince Harry, Sarah Ferguson, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will not be attending.
A friend of the couple said: "Peter and Harriet's wedding is an intimate occasion with their close friends and immediate family around them in the Cotswolds. It’s an area where they grew up and is very special to them both.
"When and whether Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah Ferguson had been invited, it was probably not deemed appropriate to invite them. It’s Peter and Harriet’s special day, and clearly their attendance would cause a distraction to the whole day."
They added: "Peter and Harry haven’t spoken for several years and have simply lost touch, so he hasn’t been invited."
Royal races
Hopefully, King Charles and Queen Camilla have a more enjoyable time at Epsom than at their 2024 appearance.
That year, the couple headed to the races to cheer on their horse, Treasure, only to turn away disappointed when he finished second from last.
The royals are big fans of horse racing, with the King attending the Royal Windsor Horse Show earlier this month.
The King looked very excited as he watched the annual event, at times covering his eyes during the action.
