It is day three of Royal Ascot, and we are adoring watching the royal family's interactions inside the carriages and in the parade ring ahead of the races beginning each day. We've seen King Charles chuckle and Mike Tindall's prank and Duchess Sophie pull off an immaculate curtsy, and on Thursday, we saw Zara Tindall and King Charles share a sweet moment together…

While Zara must curtsy to the King, after that exchange had taken place, she reached for his arm and gave it an affectionate squeeze, and the photographers captured the brief yet heartfelt interaction with her uncle. Charles appears to get on incredibly well with Zara and her husband Mike, who are often seen sharing chats and laughs.

The equestrian was a vision in pale yellow for today's races, after rocking a floral dress yesterday and a pastel pink number on day one. Her chosen outfit proved butter yellow is still a hit shade of the season - the jacquard belted dress was a custom design by Rebecca Vallance, paired with an elegant Sarah Cant hat. Rebecca Vallance. Has spoken about the dress: "Colour has always played such an important role in how women feel when they dress. The butter yellow felt optimistic, modern and perfect for Ascot. It's elegant, but it still feels fresh, which is something I always look for when designing occasionwear."

A beautiful updo and Kiki McDonough earrings finished off Zara's stunning look perfectly. In other photographs, Zara added sunglasses, which were the Tavistock Sunglasses in Champagne by FINLAY.

Dressing for Ascot

H! Fashion recently spoke to, Daniel Fletcher, Royal Ascot's first-ever creative director, who told our sister publication how to nail the dress code."Of course, the dress code is an important part of Royal Ascot and should always be your starting point. But I’m always keen to remind people that there’s so much room for creativity within those guidelines.

"Whether it’s through colour, tailoring, millinery or accessories, there are countless ways to express your personal style while still dressing appropriately for your enclosure. My advice would always be to familiarise yourself with the dress code in advance, then have fun finding a look that works within it and feels completely your own."

Another important family interaction we saw this week was when Zara Tindall spoke with her brother's new wife, Harriet Phillips, after her debut carriage appearance at Ascot on Tuesday. The pair were pictured chatting trackside, after Harret shared a carriage with her new mother-in-law, Princess Anne. Later in the day, the newlyweds looked elated as they exchanged smiles and watched the races animatedly from the Royal Box.

Harriet Phillips on her wedding day

This occasion comes weeks after they exchanged vows on 6 June at All Saints Church in Kemble, surrounded by friends and family. The bride's wedding day look appeared to be Princess Kate-inspired as the Emilia Wickstead dress featured long lace sleeves, a high square neckline and a sweeping veil. "There are subtle parallels with the Princess of Wales in the choice of Emilia Wickstead and the commitment to timeless elegance," fashion expert and luxury stylist Oriona Robb told HELLO!

"What strikes me most is how effortless she looks. The dress is undeniably grand, yet she wears it with such grace and ease that the overall effect feels timeless rather than formal. It’s a beautiful example of confidence and elegance working hand in hand."
