The Prince of Wales has revealed tentative plans to jet to the US in a few weeks, while speaking on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce. Prince William, who is a huge football fan and patron of the Football Association, admitted to the NFL stars that he would hop on a flight to America if England made the World Cup final.
During the chat, he also casually asked the brothers to join him watching the final should he go stateside. It wouldn't be the first time that William has made a last-minute trip to watch a football final. In 2025, William flew out to Switzerland to support the Lionesses in the UEFA Women's Euro final against Spain, which they won. The year prior, he jetted to Berlin to watch the England Men’s national team take on Spain. This was a particularly special trip, as he brought Prince George along too, but sadly the father-son duo didn't see England lift the trophy.
Faith in England
Prince William has been very vocal about his faith in the current England team. When speaking to the squad and management team, he said: "It's not going to be an easy tournament as you well know. It's going to be one of the hardest World Cups there's probably been in the modern era, but I have no doubt you'll rise to the occasion."
If William's hopes and dreams do come true, the final is taking place on Sunday 19 July, and that's just days after Prince Harry is set to conclude his UK trip, which is provisionally happening 7 - 11 July.
Why is Prince Harry coming to the UK?
The Duke of Sussex is heading to the UK to mark the official "one year to go" countdown for the 2027 Invictus Games, which are being hosted in Birmingham this time. But as well as this very important engagement, it is thought that he and his wife Meghan Markle, who he is also bringing to the UK, will carry out other charitable engagements.
At first, it was reported that Harry and Meghan would bring their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK with them in order to meet family members, but questions around security have left the plans in limbo. Prince Harry has been refused royal security for the trip, but he has been offered accommodation at a royal residence where security is included on site. It remains to be seen if the whole Sussex family will touch down on UK soil in a few weeks' time.
