Princess Leonor turned heads as she debuted one of her most striking looks to date for the Spanish royal family's annual summer reception at Marivent Palace.

The 20-year-old heir to the Spanish throne joined her parents, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, alongside her younger sister Infanta Sofía and grandmother Queen Sofía, for the traditional gathering, which welcomes representatives from institutions and organisations across the Balearic Islands.

While Queen Letizia kept things effortlessly elegant in an ivory striped Sybilla dress and King Felipe opted for a relaxed blue linen shirt with dark trousers, it was Leonor and Sofía who brought the colour to the royal family's annual appearance.

Leonor looked radiant in a fiery two-piece ensemble by Spanish sustainable fashion label Thinking Mu. The sleeveless Dora top and coordinating Pauline pleated maxi skirt featured painterly shades of crimson, burnt orange and golden yellow, punctuated with unexpected flashes of blue that evoked a dramatic Mediterranean sunset.

The Princess paired the striking look with metallic gold sandals and carefully chosen accessories, including a sculptural gold cuff worn high on her arm, delicate rings and PDPAOLA's Gravity Ring.

But it wasn't just her fashion choice that caught attention. Leonor switched up her signature royal beauty look by wearing her long brunette hair in loose, textured waves with plenty of natural volume.

The tumbling curls framed her face beautifully, while softly glowing skin, fluttery lashes and a glossy pink lip completed the effortlessly modern appearance.

Royal fans may have recognised part of her outfit, with Leonor previously wearing the Thinking Mu top to Bad Bunny's concert in Madrid earlier this summer. For the Marivent reception, however, she elevated the look by debuting the matching skirt for the first time.

Sister style with a twist

Standing beside her, Infanta Sofía offered a softer interpretation of the evening's artistic dress code.

The 19-year-old chose the flowing Libelula maxi dress by Italian label Momonì, featuring dreamy washes of blush pink, burgundy, cream and soft blue. She cinched the romantic silhouette with a delicate gold starburst belt and completed her outfit with flat metallic sandals and understated gold jewellery.

Although the sisters wore completely different silhouettes, their looks complemented one another perfectly thanks to the shared watercolor-inspired prints.

Their beauty choices also highlighted their evolving personal styles. While Leonor embraced textured waves and a more bohemian aesthetic, Sofía opted for sleek, straight hair with a centre parting, creating a polished contrast to her sister's relaxed look.

A growing royal tradition

This year's reception marked only the second time Leonor and Sofía have attended the annual Marivent Palace gathering after making their debut in 2025.

Last summer, Leonor memorably recycled one of Queen Letizia's blue-and-white dresses, while Sofía chose a pink tie-dye design from Zara. Twelve months later, the sisters returned with even more confident fashion identities while maintaining the subtle coordination that has become a hallmark of their joint appearances.

A family affair

The annual reception also highlighted the close bond within the Spanish royal family. King Felipe looked relaxed in a navy-blue shirt and charcoal trousers, while Queen Letizia embraced understated sophistication in a cream striped midi dress and metallic sandals.

Queen Sofía completed the multigenerational family portrait in a vibrant floral coat dress in shades of pink, purple and white, adding another splash of colour to the summer gathering.
