Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig's 2023 blockbuster taught us that Barbies can be anything - and our favourite Spanish sister-duo proved that even includes royal.
Crown Princess Sofia, 20, and her lookalike sister, Infanta Sofia, 19, were the ultimate royal Barbies during their joint appearance at an audience with the Board of Trustees of the Spanish Committee of the United World Colleges Foundation on Friday.
Armed with an immaculate bouncy-blowdry and an ensemble from one of her favourite, go-to designers, Carolina Herrera, the future Queen was the picture of royal style.
Her pink contribution to the royal appearance was a waist-cinching shirt by the aforementioned Venezuelan-American designer who has been dressing royals, including the Princess of Wales, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Princess Charlene of Monaco for decades.
The vibrant pink blouse known by the designer as the "taffeta fitted shirt" is a sleeveless piece featuring dramatically accentuated shoulders. The waist-defining element comes from the wide sash in matching taffeta fabric, which Lenor appeared to tie into a large bow at the back.
The senior royal paired her eye-catching designer top with a pair of white tailored cigarette trousers accentuated by a pair of cream cork wedges.
Infata Sofia's high street sartorial contribution Princess Kate would love
Meanwhile, Infanta Sofia's sartorial contribution was one of the high-street variety, the young royal stepping out in a beautiful pink suit from Mango.
She wore her long, honey-blond tresses down with a subtle face-framing wave, her look complete with a pair of nude sling-back ballet flats.
Leonor and Sofia's special sisterly bond
The royal sister-duo couldn't be closer, which was evident from the photos of this outing alone, the duo photographed with their arms around one another as they chatted to attendees.
The pair are just two years apart in age, and from when they were young, their bond has always been clear, the duo frequently holding hands and pictured being incredibly tactile, something which has continued into adult life.
In June, the sister duo made headlines when they linked arms while welcoming Pope Leo XIV to Spain.
As they elegantly ascended the pristine staircase at the Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid, where they celebrated mass with the head of the catholic church, Leonor and Sofia, dressed in complementary pastel colours, leaned on each other while following their mother, Queen Letizia and father, King Felipe.
