And welcome back to our royal blog! I'm Eleanor, HELLO!'s acting online royal correspondent, and I'll be bringing you all the latest updates throughout the day.
Today, Princess Ingrid will join her father, King Haakon, in taking the constitutional oath, following the death of King Harald V.
Following the death of Harald V, the government met with the new King and his heir, Princess Ingrid.
Article 44 of the Nordic country's Constitution states that any person of legal age who becomes first in line to the throne must take a written oath before the Storting (Parliament).
This marks the first time in Norway's recent history that an heir apparent, in this case a female heir, has reached the age of majority. Princess Ingrid is 22 years old and will therefore have to take the oath of allegiance in writing.
