King Charles makes a 'cheeky' comment at garden party
King Charles broke off his Scottish summer break for a London garden party to support Commonwealth students.
The monarch helped mark the 125th anniversary of the Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship, his first engagement since his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his wife Meghan returned to the UK.
The King is patron of the Victoria League, established in 1901, which has supported student hospitality and welfare since 1927. It currently provides affordable accommodation to students from across the Commonwealth at its London HQ.
Charles met students, staff, supporters and Commonwealth High Commissioners at a garden party.
Anshika Mishra, 23, of Lucknow, India, studying a Master's in Marketing, said: "It's very safe; the safety is top-notch. It’s a good area and a good community. You get to learn from different cultures and communities. Meeting the King is a dream come true."
Former student resident Andrew Kelly, 29, told the King he would be playing violin for him at the garden party.
Charles cheekily replied: "Get a drink after to recover from stress."
School "gossip" surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sparks letter
It has been widely reported that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are heading off to a British school this month. One school in the English countryside has taken it upon itself to address the royal rumours. Ahead of the start of term, a preparatory school in Oxfordshire sent a letter to parents regarding speculation that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children might be attending.
In the letter, verified and obtained by HELLO!, parents were informed that "despite the gossip" that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might have been considering the private school for their kids, "no application" as of September 1 had appeared on the headmaster's desk, but the school's admissions team was said to be remaining "ever vigilant."

Queen Camilla and Brigitte Macron are so glamorous in matching white outfits on joint outing with King Charles
King Charles has been as busy as usual on Wednesday with the monarch returning to work following the summer break and the return of his son, Prince Harry.
After hosting a garden party and meeting with members of the Pakistani cricket team, Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, joined Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, the President and First Lady of France, at the British Museum.
The group, who were also accompanied by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, all headed out to view the Bayeux Tapestry after it was temporarily loaned to Britain. They enjoyed a private viewing of the iconic artwork before an exhibition at the museum opens to the public on 10 September.
While Charles and Emmanuel looked smart in their suits, their glamorous wives stole the show as they arrived in stylish, matching white dresses.

Find out Queen Mary's response when asked what kind of Queen Norway's Mette-Marit will be
There's a new Queen Consort in Europe: Norway's Queen Mette-Marit. The wife of Norwegian monarch King Haakon VIII, who ascended the throne less than a week ago, is no stranger to controversy. Her past friendship with Jeffrey Epstein as well as her eldest child, Marius Borg Høiby, who's been found guilty of rape and other crimes, have made headlines in recent years.
In fact, following the release of past messages between her and Epstein, HELLO! was told earlier this year that there was "already an ongoing debate about whether Mette-Marit" could become queen after this. Though she since has.
Queen Mary of Denmark, who, like Mette-Marit, married a Crown Prince who eventually ascended the throne, has more than two years of experience as a Queen Consort herself. On September 2, Mary was asked what type of Queen Mette-Marit will be... though she didn't quite answer it.
See what she said here.
