King Charles is busy with a royal tour encompassing several Caribbean countries, but the royal will have been dealt a blow as back at home, one of his lifelong friends has passed away.
Simon Rufus Isaacs, the fourth Marquess of Reading, had been close to the monarch during his lifetime, with the two families' relationship stretching back for decades. The sad death was confirmed by Simon's daughter, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, who is the co-founder of luxury fashion brand Beulah London.
In a touching tribute, she wrote: "Daddy, Uppa, how incredibly blessed we were to have had such an incredible father and grandfather for so many years. Every photo I can find is of you with my girls, hugging them, playing with them. You loved them with all your heart, and you showed them unconditional love. How blessed were we.
"You fought the good fight right up until the end, your bravery was immense and I am so proud of you. Your legacy will live on in us all."
She concluded: "As mummy and I prayed as you went into heaven, we told you you were only getting on an earlier train and we will see you again. Syb's had a picture at the train station of you jumping on a train, in your former self, waving and smiling. Until we meet again, daddy."
She then posted the Bible verse 2 Timothy 4:7, which reads: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
The family's relationship with the royals has continued into the next generation, as Simon's son, Julian Rufus Isaacs, who is the new Marquess of Reading, is a childhood friend of Prince Harry.
Julian was also part of the so-called 'Glosse Posse', which also included the likes of Chelsy Davy, Charlie van Straubenzee, Harry Soames and Arabella Musgrave, the latter of whom briefly dated Prince William.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are also especially close with Natasha, with Catherine often wearing outfits from her range. The royal couple were also guests when Natasha walked down the aisle with Rupert Finch in 2013, with William and Catherine returning the compliment after Natasha and Rupert attended their 2011 royal wedding.
The King's royal tour
The monarch is incredibly busy at the moment, conducting a nine-day tour of the Caribbean. Charles arrived there on Tuesday, and he is due to acknowledge "the great suffering of the past" against the backdrop of calls for him to apologise for Britain's colonial legacy.
The King's RAF flight landed at Lynden Pindling International Airport just after 4pm local time and he was met on the tarmac by Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor-General, and Prime Minister Philip E. Davis among other officials.
Charles attended independence celebrations in the Bahamas more than half a century ago, when he delivered a message from his mother Queen Elizabeth II to the Bahamian people.
On Wednesday, he carried out plenty of engagements, including a s, where he learnt about climate resilience and environmental restoration work being carried out by the Bahamas National Trust.
As a young man, Prince Charles visited The Bahamas privately on several occasions, including a couple of trips with his first wife, Diana, Princess of Wales. They spent part of their honeymoon on Windermere Island, off Eleuthera, in 1981.
