The ceramics will be produced by Richard Ginori, the iconic Florentine company founded in 1735, rescued from bankruptcy by bosses at the fashion house four years ago. Standout pieces include a bright floral jacquard vanity seat with silver detailing, wooden high-backed chairs with lacquered, frames and padded seats covered in various animal motifs. There is also a line of eye-catching cushions trimmed in tassels and clad in velvets and jacquards.

Gucci is launching a homeware range

"The idea is not to prescribe a particular decorative look, but to provide elements that allow for living spaces to be customised," a representative for the company, according to WWD. Michele, now creative director of Richard Ginori, has created porcelain items featuring his favourite bees, butterflies and cockerel heads in 3D. Other items feature a green and white Herbarium decoration. There are also porcelain scented-candle holders, and incense holders and the designer has developed four scents - for both candles and incense: Inventum, Fumus, Herbosum, and Esotericum.

The items won't have a dedicated area within the Gucci boutiques but will instead become "simply another way to dress in Gucci, they will be spread throughout Gucci store interiors, integrated with clothing, accessories and shop fittings". Gucci Decor will launch in September in the brand's flagship stores and online.
