Christina Haack has another driver in her household after revealing her 15-year-old daughter, Taylor, now has her learner's permit.
The HGTV star appeared shocked when she shared the news on her Instagram Stories, uploading a photo of Taylor waiting in line at the DMV.
"Omg our girl has a driving permit!!!" she captioned the post, tagging her ex-husband and Taylor's dad, Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
According to California teen driving laws, teenagers can obtain a learner's permit at age 15-and-a-half after passing a written test and a vision test, but they must always have a licensed driver 25 years or older in the passenger seat.
When Taylor turns 16 on September 22, she will be able to apply for her provisional driver's license, as long as she has completed 50 hours of supervised driving and passed a driving test.
To celebrate the milestone, Taylor took a spin in a black Tesla Model X, which you can watch in the video above. An all-wheel drive model retails for $99,990.
"I can't believe we have a new driver," Christina captioned a clip of Taylor behind the wheel, pulling out of a driveway in the sleek car.
While it's unclear if the car is a new purchase for Taylor or if she was driving her mom's, as Christina has been pictured in a Tesla before, the electric SUV is certainly a luxury car for a first-time driver.
The Model X is known for its rear "Falcon doors," while the front doors automatically open as you approach for easier entry.
It is also equipped with Autopilot hardware, "enabling your vehicle to steer, accelerate, and brake automatically within its lane under your active supervision," according to Tesla.
It also has Tesla Vision, which monitors vehicles, assists with parking, and helps avoid collisions.
There is a large central touchscreen for controls, and a minimalist interior design with "supportive, ventilated front-row seats and heated seats throughout the cabin."
After Taylor's sixteenth birthday, she'll be able to drive alone, although not between the hours of 11 pm and 5 am for the first 12 months.
She will also not be allowed to have passengers under the age of 20 in the car for the first 12 months, unless she is accompanied by a licensed driver 25 years or older, according to California teen driving laws.
Taylor's appearance on her mom's Instagram is rare, as she has shied away from appearing on her family's social media in recent years.
During the family's Eater celebrations last year, Christina revealed that Taylor "doesn't want to be pictured."
In 2024, Taylor first expressed a dislike for appearing in her mom's photos, and back in December 2023, Christina jokingly called out her daughter on her Instagram Stories for her dislike of being on camera.
Sharing a video from a family night out, she panned the camera to Taylor, who was hanging out with a friend. She then joked: "Proof that Taylor still exists," quoting her "no photos please" request and lamenting: "Teenagers…"
