Charmed was a big hit when it landed on TV screens in 1998 and introduced us to the Halliwell sisters – who can forget the "Power of Three?"

For eight seasons, we were enthralled by the magic, mayhem, and love stories of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe (plus Paige from season four) until the series ended in 2006.

It wasn't just the on-screen antics that captured fans' attention, but also reports of a feud off-screen between main stars Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano.

It's been over 27 years since the show debuted on the WB. Find out where the stars of Charmed are today.

Holly Marie Combs (Piper Halliwell)

After starring in the CBS family drama Picket Fences, Holly Marie Combs landed the role of middle sister Piper Halliwell, who could freeze or heat molecules.

Once Charmed ended in 2006, she had parts in several movies and TV shows, including Ocean's Eleven, before landing a role on another successful TV show in 2010, Pretty Little Liars, where she portrayed Lucy Hale's on-screen mom, Ella Montgomery, as a series regular for the first three seasons.

As well as being a staple at fan conventions where she mingles with fans and discusses all things Charmed, the actress also co-hosts a rewatch podcast, the House of Halliwell, alongside her former co-stars Brian Krause and Drew Fuller.

In her personal life, the actress has been married three times: from 1993 to 1997 to actor Bryan Travis Smith, from 2004 to 2011 to David Donoho, with whom she shares three sons, Finley, Riley, and Kelley, and to her current husband, restaurateur Mike Ryan, whom she wed in 2019.

Alyssa Milano on Charmed and in 2026

Alyssa Milano (Phoebe Halliwell)

Alyssa Milano starred as the youngest sister, Phoebe Halliwell, whose psychic gift of premonition evolved throughout the series to include levitation and empathy.

Once Charmed wrapped, Alyssa, who clashed with co-star Shannen Doherty on set, worked steadily on TV, most notably on My Name Is Earl (2007–2008), Mistresses (2013–2014), and Insatiable (2018-2019).

Alyssa was instrumental in the #MeToo movement in 2017 and helped popularize it on Twitter. She is deeply involved in activism and co-founded the gun-violence prevention group #NoRA in 2018, a coalition aiming to counter the NRA's influence on gun policy.

In 2021, Alyssa published Sorry Not Sorry, a collection of personal essays that explores her life, career, and humanitarian work. It is the same name as her podcast, in which she tackles social, political, and cultural issues.

In 2009, she married talent agent David Bugliari, with whom she shares two children, Milo and Elizabella. Alyssa was married to musician Cinjun Tate from January 1999 to November that same year.

Shannen Doherty (Prue Halliwell)

Shannen Doherty played the eldest sister, Prue Halliwell, who could move objects with her mind and later astral project. She was (spoiler) killed off at the end of season three, reportedly due to her fractured relationship with Alyssa Milano.

"There was too much drama on the set and not enough passion for the work," she told ET in 2001. "You know, I'm 30 years old and I don't have time for drama in my life anymore."

Before Charmed, Shannen was already a star, having played Brenda Walsh on Beverly Hills, 90210 (1990–1994). She also had a recurring role on Little House on the Prairie (1982–1983) and starred opposite Winona Ryder and Christian Slater in Heathers (1988).

After Charmed, Shannen appeared on the soap North Shore (2004–2005), and returned to her character of Brenda Walsh on CW's revival 90210.

Shannen died on July 13, 2024, at 53 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2015, and though she later went into remission, the cancer eventually returned and spread in 2020.

Rose McGowan (Paige Matthews)

Rose McGowan took on the role of the Halliwell's half-sister, Paige Matthews, in season four, who was half-witch and half-whitelighter with the ability to orb and heal.

She was known to audiences beforehand thanks to her roles in Scream (1996), Going All the Way (1997), Nowhere (1997), and Jawbreaker (1999).

Following Charmed, Rose starred in the 2007 Grindhouse double feature, Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof.

Rose was one of the first actresses to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, leading to the #MeToo movement.

She was briefly engaged to Marilyn Mason in 2001 and director Robert Rodriguez in 2007. She married artist Davey Detail in 2013, but they divorced three years later. Rose has been living in Mexico since 2020, becoming a permanent resident in 2021.

Brian is highly active in the fan community and co-hosts House of Halliwell with Holly Marie Combs and Drew Fuller.

He was married to Beth Bruce from 1996 to 2000, and they share one adult son, Jamen.

Julian McMahon (Cole Turner)

Julian McMahon played Cole Turner, who had a demonic alter-ego, Belthazor, Phoebe's love interest, who joined the show in season three.

He left in 2003 and went on to find huge success playing plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck (2003–2010). He also starred in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). He later had roles in FBI (2019–2021) and the spinoff, FBI: Most Wanted (2020–2022).

The Australian actor was married to Dannii Minogue for 18 months in 1994, followed by actress Brooke Burns from 1999 to 2001, with whom he welcomed daughter Madison.

He married Kelly Paniagua in 2014, and they were together until his death on July 2, 2025. Julian died following a private battle with cancer at age 56.

Drew Fuller on Charmed and in 2023

Drew Fuller (Chris Halliwell)

Drew Fuller's first major acting role was as Chris Halliwell, who was introduced to viewers in season five, and it was later revealed that he was Piper and Leo's son sent back from the future.

"Chris was really a lot of fun to play since he had secrets and I had to constantly execute things but without telling everyone how I was going to go about doing it so that was always fun," he said in a 2022 interview with Digital Journal.

Following Charmed, Drew starred in the Lifetime drama Army Wives from 2007 to 2012 and has appeared in episodes of Longmire (2015) and The Rookie (2023). He also co-hosts the House of Halliwell podcast with Holly Marie Combs and Brian Krause.
