Ron and Cheryl Howard were perfectly partnered in 1974, the year prior to their marriage and four years after their first date.

They were already happy to arrive all loved-up to a red carpet premiere, enjoying a night of Hollywood glamour with a dash of young love.

Ron Howard and wife Cheryl, then Cheryl Alley, said 'I do' on 7 June 1975. The ceremony took place at the Magnolia Park United Methodist Church in Burbank. 

The pair got all glammed up in their '70s finest, with Ron sporting a wide collared shirt and Cheryl in a high-necked lace wedding dress, complete with veil and a trailing bouquet.

Cheryl and Ron welcomed daughter Bryce Dallas Howard on 2 March 1981. A year later, the pair seemed to be enjoying domestic bliss as a family of three. 

They share four children together, eldest daughter Bryce, twins Jocelyn and Paige, and son Reed. Bryce and Paige have both pursued careers in acting, while son Reed is a professional golfer.  

Ron and Cheryl regularly attend showbiz premieres together and it was no different in 1991 when they arrived all dressed up for Cape Fear in New York.

During each one of their appearances, the pair can be spotted hand in hand or with an arm around the other's shoulders, proving true love stands the test of time.

The couple are just as in love as ever and it seems they still can't get enough of each other. It's not a rare occurrence to see Cheryl and Howard share a sweet kiss in front of the cameras.

Ron has spoken about the secret to happiness in his marriage to Cheryl, telling People: "Some of staying together for that amount of time is luck. You have to grow together".

Sometimes all it takes is a look. When a couple's been together over 50 years, there's a language that's all their own and Cheryl and Ron are no exception.

You can normally catch the loved-up pair having a giggle together or creating a world of their own, even as the world watches on.

It's not just small glances that build a partnership but the big moments, too. In 2015, Cheryl was there to share Ron's big moment as he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Both were beaming as they celebrated the director's recognition while crouching over the star, oblivious to the crowds either side.

Ron Howard directed 2024 survival thriller Eden and, of course, his wife Cheryl was there to support the project at its premiere.

The pair remain as close as ever and remain all-smiles for the camera on the red carpet. It's the stuff of happily ever afters!
