Ariana Grande is finally back on a stage near you!
The pop star and actress, 32, has officially kicked off The Eternal Sunshine Tour, her first headlining tour in seven years, since 2019's Sweetener Tour.
The series of concerts represent her official return to performing since the era of Wicked, when she appeared as Galinda/Glinda in 2024's Wicked and 2025's Wicked: For Good, with the former earning her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
And they're also representing a return to her style roots, with one specific choice fans are already immediately obsessed with – the comeback of the signature Ariana ponytail.
In 2014, when she released her sophomore album My Everything, Ariana debuted her high ponytail, which instantly became associated with her style. The look remained a staple of hers until the 2020s, when she began experimenting with different hairstyles, especially once she went blonde for Wicked (she has since returned to her natural brunette).
However, the high pony is officially back for the tour, which opened on Saturday, June 6 at California's Oakland Arena, and fans are already in love with the style homages to her past eras that Ariana is bringing.
"The pony tail becoming iconic," one commented on social media, with another gushing: "That pony tail!!!!!!!" and a third also adding: "PONYTAIL IS ON!" Many others were also impressed by her ability to pull off choreography in her high stilettos, plus the catalog of hits.
The opening show included a setlist of 23 songs, kicking things off with Eternal Sunshine's lead single, "Yes, And?" interspersed with several of her other biggest hits, such as "Thank U, Next," "7 Rings," "One Last Time," "Break Free," "Rain On Me," and "Into You," ending with Eternal Sunshine album cut "Supernatural."
The Eternal Sunshine Tour is currently slated to include a total of 41 shows, primarily spending the summer in the United States and Canada before heading over to London's O2 Arena for 10 shows to conclude.
Also included in the setlist is her newest single, "Hate That I Made You Love Me," which precedes her upcoming eighth studio album, Petal, which arrives on July 31.
The "POV" singer has already dubbed the tour as her "last hurrah," saying last year during an appearance on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast that she's intending for this tour to be her final headlining tour, at least for quite a while.
"The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up," she noted. "I don't want to say anything definitive. I do know that I'm very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time."
"I'm going to give it my all and it's going to be beautiful," Ariana added. "I think that's why I'm doing it because I'm like, 'One last hurrah!'"
