Back to the Future star Lea Thompson was a proud mom on the red carpet on Tuesday, as she supported her daughter ahead of the release of her newest film, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass.

The 65-year-old looked incredible in a white dress that fell to just above her knees, featuring long sleeves and a draped scarf. She paired the look with strappy beige heels and dangling earrings, and wore her blonde hair in a stylish bob as she made the rare public appearance.

Lea's 31-year-old daughter, Zoey Deutch, wowed in a black one-shoulder gown with a high halter neck and draped detailing down one sleeve. She added black heels to complete the look and wore her hair in a chic up-do.

The mother-daughter duo beamed as they walked the red carpet together ahead of Zoey's new film, which follows her character, Gail Daughtry, as she travels to Hollywood to seek revenge on her fiancé by orchestrating a celebrity encounter.

Also in attendance on the special night was Zoey's dad, Howard Deutch, who has been married to Lea since 1989, after meeting on the set of Some Kind of Wonderful

The couple also share a 35-year-old daughter, Madelyn Deutch, who is an actress and musician. The three women worked together on the 2017 film The Year of Spectacular Men, which happened to be Lea's directorial debut.

Zoey followed in her mom's acting footsteps

The A-lister shared with The Hollywood Reporter that she loved working with her daughters on the film, as it brought them all closer. "Through this process, I learned more about them as people and as artists. I'm sure they learned a lot about me! I was surprised by how sharp their comedy skills are, and what mensches they are to their fellow crew members," she said.

Lea acknowledged that it couldn't have been easy for her girls to follow her path to Hollywood, and shared that she was honored they had the same career aspirations as her.

"I've accomplished a lot, and to follow in your parents' footsteps, it's a little daunting," she told ABC News. "I'm honored that I didn't make it seem like a bad job or like I had to be the only actor in the family. It does make for very boring dinner conversation, though."

Lea later shared with InStyle that she always knew Zoey would be a star thanks to her acting talent as a child. "When she would play Barbies with her friends, she produced real tears," Lea recalled. "She'd be like, 'Ken has left. I am so sad.' Tears would come down, and I'd say, 'What's going on here?'"

Zoey shared that her mother inspired her "in so many ways"

As for Zoey, the Voicemails for Isabelle star is incredibly proud to follow in her famous mother's footsteps.

"She's inspired me in so many ways more than just the obvious thing of following in her footsteps as an actress," the brunette beauty told DuJour magazine. "She's a really, really remarkable woman. She just goes about her day, and I don't think she realizes the gravity of the show-not-tell attitude."
