Rosie O'Donnell is not holding back when it comes to sharing her journey with cosmetic surgery and weight loss medication.
The comedienne, 64, has openly discussed the weight loss and change in her lifestyle that came from as a result of starting a routine with Mounjaro back in 2023 after she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
© Getty ImagesSince then, the actress has also revealed that she privately received a deep plane facelift to remove the effects of sagging skin to come from her nearly 60 pound weight loss.
Why did Rosie O'Donnell decide to get her facelift?
In a new interview, Rosie explained the thought process behind both the GLP-1 drug usage and her facelift, calling the latter something she had to openly "wrestle" with beforehand.
"I lost so much weight that I had a lot of excess skin [by my chin], and it made me look sad," she explained to People, to the point that people around her in her new Irish home noticed. "People in Ireland said, 'Rosie, are you all right, love?' I'm like, 'It's my face. I actually feel happy here.' I didn't want my face to be frozen."
The And Just Like That… star noted that the idea of being a feminist was what presented a conflict. "I had to wrestle with myself because as a feminist I always felt this is the male gaze and not anything I believe in." Even her 13-year-old Clay resisted the idea, until she decided to go ahead with it.

"Clay said, 'Mommy, girls look up to you. What does your legacy stand for if you do this?' I changed my mind for six months and then decided the real power of feminism [is] to decide what we want to do with our bodies and when."
© InstagramIn fact, Clay still doesn't even know their mom got a facelift, nor noticed the impact. "I hope they don't pick up People magazine . . . but you never know," Rosie quipped.
The reason Rosie went public with her $90,000 facelift
She then revealed why she decided to go public with it, even dropping the price tag for the procedure. "I didn't make it public until everyone started saying, 'You look so much better. What are you doing?'"

Rosie on her 60 lbs. weight loss
Even the weight loss has made a big difference in Rosie's life. "It's very strange to just buy a pair of jeans that fit," she joked. "When I would do late-night, my biggest concern wasn't my set – it was, did I look fat?"
