Nicole Kidman appears to be embracing a fresh chapter in her personal life. The Oscar-winning actress was photographed enjoying an extended conversation with businessman Michael Reinstein while staying at a luxury hotel in the picturesque seaside town of Portofino, Italy.
Standing on the terrace overlooking the historic Italian surroundings, Nicole looked effortlessly elegant in a champagne silk camisole teamed with a matching satin skirt. The softly shimmering ensemble perfectly complemented the warm Mediterranean backdrop as she chatted with Reinstein beneath the afternoon sun.
The pair appeared completely at ease in each other's company, lingering on the terrace with no apparent rush to end their conversation. In one image, Reinstein leaned casually against a brick wall with a broad smile, while Nicole rested her arms on the balcony railing as a gentle breeze caught her signature strawberry-blonde hair.
The romantic setting, complete with centuries-old architecture and golden Italian light, gave the photographs the feel of a classic Nora Ephron film.
Who is Michael Reinstein?
While Michael may not be a familiar face in Hollywood, he has built an impressive career in the business world.
The Los Angeles native is the founder, chairman and CEO of Regent, a Beverly Hills-based private equity firm he established in 2013. Under his leadership, Regent has acquired an extensive portfolio of fashion, retail, media and consumer brands, including Escada, Club Monaco, La Senza, Sunset magazine, Defense News, Army Times and Lillian Vernon.
Before launching Regent, Michael worked at Hollywood talent agency ICM Partners and also spent time as a junior staffer in the office of former US President Ronald Reagan.
A qualified attorney, he earned his law degree from Pepperdine University after graduating from the University of Southern California and is a member of the California State Bar.
Earlier in his career, he co-founded the USN television network, later served as CEO of The Franklin Mint and digital entertainment platform CinemaNow, and founded the Military Charity Organization, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit that honours US service members through its annual Service Members of the Year programme.
Nicole's divorce
Nicole's Italian escape comes just months after she and country music star Keith Urban finalised their divorce following 19 years of marriage.
According to court documents, the former couple reached an amicable settlement after Nicole filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
The agreement reportedly states that neither party will pay alimony or spousal support, while Nicole was granted primary custody of daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Keith will continue to spend time with the girls every other weekend.
The divorce followed reports that Nicole had hoped to save the marriage before ultimately deciding to end the relationship.
Keith Urban's love life
Since the split, Keith has also found himself making headlines. The country singer faced online scrutiny after changing the lyrics to one of his songs to include Nicole's name following his reported split from guitarist Maggie Baugh.
Rumours later emerged suggesting he had moved in with 19-year-old country singer Karley Scott Collins, although those claims were publicly denied by Karley herself.
