Jennifer Garner may star in an East Coast show, but she's a West Coast girl.
The 54-year-old actress celebrated the renewal of her hit series The Five Star Weekend, which is set on Nantucket, leaning into the island lifestyle with snaps of her and her co-stars enjoying their time on the scenic set. The actress perfectly captured her character, Hollis Shaw's love of Nantucket, even though she is raising her family in a $7.4 million farmhouse in Los Angeles.
The actress completed the construction of her farmhouse-style property in Brentwood, Los Angeles, in September 2024. Jennifer meticulously designed and built the luxurious home from the ground up, with her serene oasis, nestled in the sun-drenched hills, serving as the heart of the property.
In a resurfaced interview with Architectural Digest, she opened up about how she made the mansion a home for her kids – Violet, Fin, and Samuel.
"I wanted it to feel old and cool and historic, but I also wanted to make it work for a big family with a lot of things going on," Jennifer shared, adding: "The kids are all over the house. They're as comfortable sitting in the living room as they are doing homework in the dining room."
The actress purchased the land for her $7.4 million home back in 2019. Seven years, it's finally perfect for her family.
"I looked and looked for a house to move into, but I needed privacy, and any house that had privacy was more grand than I felt comfortable in," she told the publication. "I was frustrated, but finally said, 'Okay, I think I'm going to have to build,' and found this lot."
Jennifer teamed up with husband-and-wife architectural duo Steve and Brooke Giannetti to help design her living space. The duo drew inspiration for the star's upbringing in West Virginia and included earthy, wooden tones within the house for a touch of coziness.
"Very early, I remember my mom saying, if you pick something right off a vine, you're so much more likely to like it," Jennifer said of her home resembling her childhood in West Virginia. "It's like you can taste the sunshine."
Jennifer Garner embraces the farmer life
Outside of acting, Jennifer embraces her nickname of "Farmer Jen." The actress often shares clips from her family's farm in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and she decided to bring that energy to her LA farmhouse.
"The first thing I said to Steve is, 'I want a library that is a super awesome, cozy-up-with-everyone, TV room. And I want it to be a deep gray-blue," she explained while sitting in the library. "I think he kind of nailed it."
The actress noted that it is everyone in her house's favorite room and that she allows her kids' feet to go anywhere. "I am so not fussy," Jennifer added.
Jennifer, who co-founded the organic children's nutrition company Once Upon a Farm in 2017, cares deeply about fresh foods. At her farmhouse, she has a greenhouse where she grows her own produce.
"I'm all about herbs," she said. "My kids and I love kale chips, so we always have a lot of kale.
