It may have been nearly two years since Hoda Kotb announced her departure as the co-anchor of NBC's TODAY, but her bonds with her former colleagues remain just as strong.

Over the weekend, Hoda took to her Instagram page to share a photo from her reunion with former co-host Savannah Guthrie, ahead of an at-home celebration for her 62nd birthday on Sunday, August 9.

"My favorite place… next to you," Hoda captioned her photo with Savannah, 54, with the pair sitting on the balcony of what looked to be Hoda's Colonial-style home in Bronxville, New York, boasting a stunning outdoor view and a pool.

And fan sentiment was the same: this was the dynamic duo that morning news truly needs. "Two queens we all admire so much," one fan gushed, with their colleague Vicky Nguyen writing: "I love this duo."

Another gushed: "Name a more ICONIC duo…!?" with one adding: "Exactly how it should be! You both inspire us all with your faith, love, acceptance & optimism," and a fan saying: "Two of my favorite tv women! Supporting each other! Love you two!"

Immediately after her photo with Savannah, the Joy 101 founder followed-up with a clip of the scene from the day, which saw her walk into her home, filled with rainbow-colored streamers, balloons, "Happy Birthday" banners, and Hoda's favorite song playing.

She was surprised by her family dog plus her two daughters, Haley and Hope, who jumped up into their mom's arms for a celebratory lunch. "Wow! A couple of days early! Surprise!" she captioned the clip.

Hoda was immediately inundated with several birthday wishes, with Al Roker commenting: "Happy Birthday, you are our gift," and his wife Deborah Roberts adding: "Happy birthday queen!" Jenna Bush Hager simply wrote: "I [heart] you," while Viola Davis said: "Happiest of birthdays my Leo sistah! We have the same dog!"

Where is Savannah Guthrie?

It looks like Savannah, for her part, is finally back in the States. The mom-of-two had taken a break from the NBC morning news show for the past few weeks to head to Manchester in the United Kingdom.

While there, Savannah filmed the first season of the upcoming NBC game show based on the popular The New York Times online puzzle Wordle. The TODAY anchor will serve as the game show's host, with Jimmy Fallon serving as executive producer.

In her stead, Sheinelle Jones has primarily filled in for Savannah opposite Craig Melvin. NBC's senior Washington correspondent Hallie Jackson also stepped in while Craig was on vacation.

Hoda, despite leaving TODAY in January 2025, has returned to the show from time to time as well, most notably between February and April 2026 while Savannah was off to spend time with family after the disappearance of her mother Nancy Guthrie.
