Savannah Guthrie made a heartbreaking plea to find her mom, Nancy Guthrie, who went missing in February 2026, on the Tuesday, September 15 broadcast of the TODAY Show.
The co-anchor's appeal came after she and Willie Geist covered the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards, where Allison Janney shared her thoughts on the case that gripped the nation. Allison, who won her eighth Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Diplomat, was applauded by a reporter for her "compassion and concern" for Savannah and her family after Nancy was kidnapped on February 1.
"I honestly think about her every day and think about the loss and what Savannah and her family are going through," Allison shared while holding her trophy. "I don't think I'm alone either. I think all of America was thinking about her."

"I was so touched to see her do that," Savannah responded. "[It was] her moment, her triumph, and for her to sit and just take a moment and think about our family."
She went on: "I never let a moment pass if I get one to talk about my mom and how much we miss her and love her, and my whole family, my sister and my brother, and all of our extended families are in such pain. We just need, we need help. So thank you Allison Janney for remembering us and for giving me an opportunity to renew that call."
"We just want our mom home, to give her a proper goodbye," the morning show host added, her emotions on full display. "That's all."
Moments after the segment wrapped, Savannah's longtime co-worker Al Roker said: "And Allison Janney speaks for almost everybody out there in America. We appreciate her bringing that to us."
