Martha Stewart unveils major hair transformation days after 85th birthday


The home-making mogul turned away from her signature blonde look with the help of celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton

It's never too late to try out a new look, just ask Martha Stewart.

The home-making mogul has long been known for her signature blonde bob, which she has rarely, if ever, strayed from since leaving her natural brunette hair behind.

But over the weekend, with the help of celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, the beloved cook debuted a new hair color: pink.

Chris revealed Martha's new "rose gold hair"

On Sunday, August 9, Chris took to Instagram and shared a photo of Martha unveiling her stunning hair transformation.

Posing alongside Chris, Martha appears wearing a white robe, and she is showing off curled, soft pink hair, which the popular colorist dubbed "rose gold" hair.

"Rose gold… It's a good thing," Chris wrote in the caption, and fans were quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over it.

"That's going to be a hard yes," one wrote, as others followed suit with: "It makes her look about 30 years younger, I love how it looks on her," and: "Chris this is gorgggggeous," as well as: "I simply love this hair. The color and the cut. Job well done."

Martha rang in her 85th birthday just one week before the epic hair transformation, and speaking with People about the milestone, she maintained: "Eighty-five is just a number."

Still, though she doesn't "consider" her age, she nonetheless finds it important to take care of herself. "I have good genes. My mom looked great at 95," she noted. "We eat well. We don't drink very much. We don't smoke. We eat healthy food. We exercise daily."

Martha was also happy to share what her skincare and cosmetic procedure routine looks like, emphasizing that she likes to keep things simple, as she admitted: "I use a little bit of fillers. I go maybe once every four months for touch-ups."

Martha's natural hair is brunette

"I have not had any plastic surgery at all," she nonetheless maintained, adding: "I don't think I need it. I do facial exercises and have the best facials from Mario Badescu and Georgia Louise. Peptides are very good. I take a few peptides."

"So that's what I do. I'm more [of] a maintenance kind of person. I'm not getting boobs done and hips and butts and stuff like that."
