David Muir has long been renowned for being one of the most reliable faces in the primetime news world.
The longtime journalist, 52, has hosted ABC's World News Tonight for over a decade, and viewers have come to recognize not only his steadfast delivery and cadence, but also his signature style.

David Muir's off-duty style
Take the latest example, which the ABC anchor shared on his Instagram Stories, of a run-in with WABC anchors Bill Ritter and Liz Cho at ABC News headquarters.
"Look who I ran into, love these two," he wrote alongside a photo with the pair at the studio. While Bill and Liz were dressed to the nines, David opted for a more casual look.
He was dressed in a cotton muscle tee with the sleeves rolled up, paired with jeans, and brown heavy-duty hiking boots, accessorized with a gold chain.
As it turns out, for someone who primarily spends his time off work living by the lake in Skaneateles, in upstate New York, David finds a lot more comfort in being casual and ready to take on the outdoors than he does in more formal settings.

"I'd say my most comfortable element is being outside, covered in mud," he previously told People, gushing about lake living. "When you're out there on the lake, smelling the same air that you smelled when you were on your BMX bike back when you were a kid, there's something really fueling about that and connected about it. You just feel like you're home again."
Although, wearing jeans during his broadcasts are turning out to be somewhat of an open secret on the World News Tonight set, as it turns out. As is David often forgetting the date.
"I generally have jeans on from the waist down," he confessed to the publication. "So the first thing that we try to do is make sure my jeans aren't showing… I really don't try to take myself too seriously but I always just joke, 'Don't tell anyone about the jeans and the boots!'"
© InstagramHe then added of why he always needs to double-check on the dates: "Because the news is hitting us at lightning speed, I literally will say just before we come on, 'It's great to have you Shelly on a Tuesday night?' And she says, 'Yes, David, it's Tuesday.'"
David's future on World News Tonight
Despite the decades he's spent in the business, that childlike fascination with the news hasn't dimmed whatsoever for David. "I think it's really important to continue to try being better," he remarked.
"The moment you stop learning, the moment you're no longer curious, the moment you don't believe you can be better than you were a night ago or a week ago, is probably a time to sort of check yourself."
