In an update on Hayden Panettiere's tragic death, police have issued a statement insisting there was 'no foul play' involved.
The Nashville actress was found unresponsive in South Carolina on August 16 with few details being released.
Greenville Police Department have now spoken to People to give further information about Hayden's death.
Police were called to respond to an 'unresponsive female'
They said that around 1.50pm they and EMS personnel responded to an "unresponsive female."
"Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene."
The spokesperson continued: "The case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call."
Police said they are not releasing any further details currently and HELLO! has reached out for comment.
A heartbreaking statement from her dad
Hayden's representative told HELLO! of her death in a short statement that read: "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden."
Her father Skip also released a message about his daughter.
"She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her, and to the millions who watched her onscreen," he said. "We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss."
Further details surrounding the circumstances of Hayden's death have not yet been released. "An investigation is ongoing and cause of death has not yet been determined, " Hayden's rep told HELLO!
Hayden was a mother to her only child
Hayden leaves behind her daughter Kaya, 11, whom she welcomed in December 2014 with her former fiancé, Ukrainian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
Her life was also touched by tragedy in February 2023 when her younger brother, actor Jansen Panettiere, died unexpectedly at the age of 28 from an enlarged heart.
Hayden and Jansen were the only two children of their parents.
