All That star Christy Knowings' cause of death has been revealed almost a month after she passed away following a medical emergency. The 46-year-old had suffered an asthma attack that left her with brain damage and she was rushed to hospital on August 7.
Christy died on August 11 after her family decided to take her off life support. According to her death certificate, she died by cardiac arrest, with acute hypoxic respiratory failure and severe asthma listed as contributing conditions.

© Getty ImagesChristy starred in more than 30 episodes of the hit Nickelodeon sketch show All That between 1997 and 1999. On set, she worked alongside actors like Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell and Nick Cannon, each of whom has gone on to enjoy incredible Hollywood success.
Kenan took to Facebook to share his condolences, reacting in shock over Christy's sudden passing. "Man, this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!!" he wrote.

Kel also paid tribute to his late co-star, writing on Instagram: "So naturally funny, incredibly talented, and fearless when it came to comedy. She had a gift for creating characters that were big, memorable, and completely her own. I'll always be grateful for the laughs, the memories, and the time we shared as part of the All That family."
"Christy, thank you for sharing your incredible gift with all of us," he continued.
"Your talent, your characters, and the joy you brought to so many will never be forgotten. Sending my love and deepest condolences to Christy's family and loved ones. Rest in Heaven, @christyknowings."
Paying tribute
© XChristy's aunt, Tyleah Joseph, confirmed her niece's passing on August 12 with an emotional Facebook post. "My brother Charles' daughter Chrissy (Christy Knowings) has passed… She was an outstanding actress, comedian, twin sister, an amazing daughter….Rest in power, Chrissy."
Meanwhile, the actress' manager, Al Hill, told Variety in a statement that Christy was "a multi-talented lady" and that "whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating…always professional and dedicated to her work."
© Nickelodeon/YouTubeThe late star previously opened up about the incredible experience of acting in All That, and shared with Complex in 2014 that the show's legacy lives on. "To create this legacy that people are still really emotionally attached to makes me feel so grateful," she said.
"I have fans that are just becoming teenagers now, and they watch the show, and they love it. To be able to have that kind of impact on other generations beyond the generation that was my initial target group is really incredible." Aside from her time on All That, Christy also appeared in three episodes of Sesame Street with her twin brother, Chris, as well as the 2009 film Mother and Child.
