Maria Sharapova gave fans a rare glimpse at her life away from motherhood and business as she enjoyed a luxurious girls' getaway at Amanyara.
The 39-year-old former tennis champion looked incredible as she relaxed on the beach in a rust-colored one-piece swimsuit, showcasing the toned physique that remains unmistakably athletic more than six years after she retired from professional tennis.
In another sun-soaked snap, Maria swapped her one-piece for a red-and-white striped bikini as she stretched out beside the turquoise ocean, while a third photo showed the former world No. 1 taking a refreshing dip surrounded by tropical greenery.
It was a very different kind of trip for the mom-of-one, who admitted that packing a suitcase without having to consider work commitments or the needs of her four-year-old son Theodore felt like something of a novelty.
"I can't remember the last time I packed a carry on without a 'business casual' wardrobe or a wide variety of toddler snacks," she wrote alongside the photographs.
"A little girl's getaway and sneak peak of the new and pretty spectacular @amanyara_resort."
How Maria Sharapova maintains her incredible physique
While Maria no longer needs to train at the intensity required to win five Grand Slam titles, exercise remains an important part of her everyday life.
Rather than attempting to replicate her professional training schedule, she has adopted a more sustainable approach to fitness built around consistency.
"I try to dedicate at least one hour a day, five to six days a week, to my physical well-being," she previously told Vogue. "I don't work out as much as I used to, but I strive to stay consistent."
Even on particularly busy days, Maria tries to carve out some time to move. "I maintain that routine no matter what, even if I only have 30 minutes to myself in a hotel room," she explained.
Strength training also remains central to her routine. "I start with strength as I believe that strength is the foundation of everything you do, especially in the core," Maria previously told Glamour, revealing that she likes to alternate between several different workouts to keep things interesting.
For Maria, however, the benefits aren't purely physical. "My spirits are lifted, I feel healthier, I end up eating much better during the day, and I stay hydrated when I'm doing my workout," she explained. "I feel like it sets a really good base for the rest of the day."
Maria's refreshingly relaxed approach to diet
Maria has also found a balance with food that looks very different from the carefully calibrated nutrition she followed during her years on the professional tennis circuit.
She follows an 80/20 philosophy rather than eliminating the foods she enjoys. "80 percent of the time, I try to eat healthy, and 20 percent of the time, I let go and indulge," she told Vogue, before making one particular weakness clear: "I love sweets!"
It is an approach that reflects the broader shift Maria has made since retiring from tennis in February 2020.
After spending much of her life training and eating with performance in mind, her focus today is less about competing and more about maintaining the strength, energy and wellbeing she needs for a busy life as an entrepreneur and mother.
Maria's life as a mom
Maria welcomed Theodore with her fiancé Alexander Gilkes in July 2022, and motherhood has inevitably changed the way she approaches both work and wellness.
She has spoken about the challenge familiar to many working mothers of finding time for herself among competing responsibilities.
"When you think of the responsibilities that you hold as a woman, between work, family, your child, on a daily basis, it becomes overwhelming," Maria said during a wellness discussion earlier this year. "You have to find ways to be selfish and take care of yourself."
