Naomi Watts proved that sheer dressing has no age limit as she stepped out in New York City in a striking lace look.
The 57-year-old actress looked incredible in a figure-skimming black lace midi dress that played with the "naked dress" trend thanks to its semi-sheer floral fabric.
Naomi kept the styling beautifully simple, pairing the long-sleeved dress with pointed black patent heels and a small black shoulder bag, while delicate earrings and a selection of silver rings completed her look.
Her signature blonde bob was swept into a tousled side part, while her beauty look was equally effortless, with luminous skin and a soft pink lip. The Mulholland Drive star appeared relaxed as she made her way through the city, smiling for photographers and offering a wave.
Naomi Watts on embracing ageing
Naomi's latest appearance feels particularly fitting given how candid she has become about rejecting the idea that women should disappear as they get older.
The actress, who experienced perimenopause unusually early, has spoken extensively about how frightening ageing initially felt while working in Hollywood.
"I felt lonely. I felt scared, and I felt ashamed. I felt like this was the end, and that is not true," she previously said of learning she was approaching menopause in her thirties.
But her attitude has transformed in the decades since.Speaking about midlife last year, Naomi explained that everything women accumulate with age can make them feel more powerful rather than less relevant.
"Our minds, our experience, our sense of self, all of these things cumulatively add up to a bolder, wiser version of yourself, which makes you hotter than ever," she told People.
Naomi, who founded menopause-focused beauty and wellness brand Stripes Beauty, also pushed back against the idea that women become invisible once they are no longer considered young. "We're more than our fertility. We are not invisible," she said.
Finding confidence in her fifties
The British-born Australian actress has said that reaching this stage of life has actually brought a new sense of confidence.
"You do get yourself back, but it's a different you," she told the Los Angeles Times of emerging from the upheaval of menopause. "I see it as a new chapter that can be really empowering."
That philosophy extends to beauty. Rather than attempting to turn back the clock, Naomi has spoken about adapting to the changes that come with age, particularly after noticing her skin becoming drier and more sensitive during menopause.
She has also been outspoken about the pressure placed on actresses to remain youthful, admitting: "It's a sin to age in our industry."
However, Naomi's own career appears to have challenged that narrative. Her fifties have included acclaimed roles in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, The Friend and All's Fair, alongside launching a company, publishing her menopause book Dare I Say It and marrying actor Billy Crudup.
"I've done a lot of things in my 50s for the first time, like writing a book, launching a company, and getting married," she said. "I just think we shouldn't be afraid."
Naomi's approach to diet and exercise
Naomi's approach to staying healthy is similarly relaxed, with the actress previously revealing that she doesn't believe in restrictive diets.
"I am very much of the mind of just anything you want in moderation," she explained on the Let's Talk Menopause podcast.
She added that she prefers to balance what she eats with exercise rather than deprive herself, joking that she isn't going to skip birthday cake or "eat lettuce in Rome" when she could be enjoying pasta instead.
It is an outlook that appears to sum up Naomi's approach to her late fifties: less concerned with trying to look younger and more interested in enjoying where she is now. As she previously explained of growing older: "Over time, you become unapologetically and authentically yourself."
