Alabama Barker added a daring sheer twist to her sartorial agenda as she unveiled her latest fashion-forward ensemble.
The 20-year-old took to her Instagram Stories on September 19 to show off her curves in a lace jumpsuit. The gray number featured long sleeves with flared trousers and a figure-hugging silhouette. The opaque look was styled with red heels for a pop of bold color.
Alabama's blonde locks were slicked back into a high ponytail, and the photo captured her strutting away from the camera with her arms in the air. She set the snap to the song "Time reveals, be careful" by Gunna.
Travis Barker's daughter is quickly becoming the ultimate fashion mogul. She often favours risqué, sheer outfits. Last month, she took to social media to post in a see-through black lingerie dress. The negligee boasted intricate lace paneling with a plunging bra neckline.
Alabama's dress is the best example of the underwear-as-outerwear trend that has peppered the runway during recent fashion seasons. Negligees, often sheer or silky interpretations of women's night gowns or slip dresses, have become the go-to staple for dinner dates by today's It-girls.
Romantic slip dresses were championed during the spring/summer 2024 shows, with the likes of Coperni, Gucci and Versace all embracing iterations of the whimsical négligée. With delicate mesh, sumptuous silk, intricate lace, and flirtatious hems, the look elevates chic eveningwear with a daring twist.
Alabama Barker on her body image
In July 2024, Alabama admitted that she had tried "weight loss medication" because she was "tired" of the body shaming she had received online. "I also have a thyroid problem and an autoimmune disease. So that's one of the main reasons why I have weight gain," she explained.
"Weight fluctuates and I don't want any girls that are young watching this that are gaining weight to ever think there's something wrong with it," she added.
"I'm not going to sit here and lie and say it's easy and to keep pushing… It gets very challenging especially when they don't know you. I feel very misunderstood!" she said on TikTok.
"People are going to hate regardless," she continued. "You need to not feed into it, you won't benefit from it! Keep your peace protected. Don't entertain what people say about you, if you know yourself & your morals and your intentions, nothing else matters."
