Glenn Close had a smile for the cameras during her latest New York outing, but one detail prompted questions from fans.
The 79-year-old actress was photographed in the city on Friday, 16 October, using a cane. Wearing a blue varsity jacket with contrasting cream sleeves, the Hollywood favourite also brought a little film nostalgia to the streets.
Her jacket featured the New York Knights, the fictional baseball team from The Natural, in which she starred alongside Robert Redford more than four decades ago.
Glenn briefly handed her cane to someone while she posed with her hands in her pockets, smiling for the photographers.

Footage of the outing was shared on Instagram with some viewers asking about the actress's use of a walking aid.
The sighting followed another public appearance just a day earlier. On Thursday, 15 October, Glenn attended the opening-night premiere of La Bola Negra during NewFest at New York's SVA Theater, where she was photographed on the red carpet.
Glenn Close's Oscar milestone
Her choice of jacket recalled her role as Iris Gaines in the 1984 baseball drama, opposite Redford's Roy Hobbs. The performance earned Glenn one of her eight Academy Award nominations.
Now, another significant Hollywood moment is approaching, Glenn is set to receive an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards on 15 November, with the ceremony taking place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.
The Academy announced the honour in June, recognising a career spanning more than five decades. Animator Floyd Norman and director Ridley Scott will also receive honorary Oscars, while producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler will receive the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
Glenn's nominations stretch from her film debut in The World According to Garp to Hillbilly Elegy, taking in celebrated performances in Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons and The Wife along the way.
Glenn Close's quieter life in Montana
Away from premieres and awards ceremonies, Glenn has shared glimpses of a considerably quieter routine.
The actress moved from New York to Bozeman, Montana, in 2019, bringing her closer to her siblings. In an Instagram video shared in August, she welcomed followers into a peaceful evening at home, smiling as she enjoyed the sunset.
Her message focused on the simple pleasure of being back in familiar surroundings. "Wearing my mama's shirt, letting the wind blow through my white hair," she said. "Watching the sun go down. I feel blessed."
