Tommy Lee Jones made an ultra-rare appearance with his wife, Dawn Laurel-Jones, in Los Angeles on Tuesday, with the pair enjoying a laid-back date night in the city. Tommy, 80, and Dawn, 62, were spotted outside Madeo restaurant in Hollywood, a month after he made a red carpet appearance in Austin, Texas.
Tommy looked relaxed in beige trousers, a red collared shirt and a black cardigan paired with black sneakers, while his wife of 25 years opted for beige pants, a white shirt, a brown sweater and brown boots, with her tumbling curls falling down her back.
Tommy Lee Jones' family tragedy
The outing comes four weeks after Tommy's appearance in Austin at the season two premiere of The Lowdown, in which he guest stars alongside Ethan Hawke. The role marks his first onscreen appearance since The Burial in 2023, and the first since Tommy's daughter, Victoria, passed away in January.
Victoria, 34, was found unresponsive in a San Francisco hotel on January 1 and passed away due to the toxic effects of cocaine.
Tommy's daughter was arrested twice in 2025, and he petitioned a court for temporary conservatorship over her in 2023, when she was living in a psychiatric facility, yet opted to end the conservatorship that same year.
Tommy welcomed Victoria and her brother, Austin, with his second wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, before they split in 1996. He had previously been married to Kate Lardner from 1971 to 1978, and tied the knot with Kimberlea in 1981.

Inside Tommy Lee Jones' romance with Dawn Laurel-Jones
The legendary actor then met Dawn on the set of The Good Old Boys in 1995, when she was working as an assistant camera operator. "I don't know what the hell I was doing," Tommy told The Independent about falling for Dawn.
She also worked on films like Back to the Future Part II and RoboCop 2, and helped to raise money for Al Gore's Climate Reality Project with her photography.
Tommy and Dawn traveled to Antarctica in 2012 with the project, as he recalled to The Independent.
"She took a lot of pictures down there, and the Climate Reality group liked them so much, they put on an exhibition and auction in London. We were there to hang that show and attend the auction," he explained.
"She took some beautiful pictures there. Of course, the ice is melting, and these pictures dramatized that somewhat. They're very beautiful pictures. She sold 17, and that brought in a little over $401,000 to support this organization that we actually are a part of."
Tommy Lee Jones' quiet life in Texas
The duo married in 2001 in San Antonio, and live on a cattle ranch in Texas where they lead a quiet life.
"The gates are locked. We keep it shut down," Tommy told Texas Monthly in 2006. "Just friends and family, no outsiders. Just how I like it."
"In the summers, we'll work cattle, and then at about seven o'clock at night, we'll start playing polo. We'll play until about nine, and then when we're done, we put the meat on the fire and watch the dark come. It's a good life. Everyone is happy."
